The Benefit

I was sitting in the audience of a benefit show for the 501st Legion. There were only about 100 people there, including myself and people I know locally from the group. Every man was dressed in tuxedos; The women who were wearing 1920s inspired dresses. George Lucas was there, joined by Steven Sansweet and Seth Green on stage. They looked for a volunteer and I jumped up. Friends are enthusiastically clapping and making all kinds of noise. I was sitting towards the back of this rather small room, and I walked around the edge of the room.

What happened next was more or less a "murder mystery dinner theater" skit. All I can remember is that some woman was trying to kill me with a syringe. I stopped her, and revealed the "motive" behind her murder attempt. I won.

The curtain on the back of the stage opened up to reveal a large bookshelf full of boardgames, all still brand new in their shrink wrap. Sansweet says they're all mine (or that I have first pick) then proceeds to nab the one box I actually wanted. Looking over the rest of the shelf, I don't see anything I recognize (or I do recognize it and have zero interest). He says something like "see anything you like?" to which I reply "Yeah, but you already took it!"

Everybody laughs. I woke up.
