Micky Dolenz

The beginning of this dream is somewhat muddled. I recall I was at the old house, and my wife was with me (though in this dream she was referred to as my girlfriend). We were hanging out downstairs at my childhood home, and someone opened a drawer and pulled out a LOTR dagger (from the United Cutlery run). For some reason we ended up hanging out in my bedroom.

It was me, my girlfriend and Micky Dolenz from The Monkees, circa 1987. We were talking about nothing all too important, when I decided to show him a rare Monkees record I had in the closet. (this item does not exist in real life; it was a figment of imagination for the dream). The cover was mostly blue, with a hand drawn image of the band in white Monkees shirts and black pants stepping out of a thin yellow circle. The title was in wavy block type and said "The Monkees Sing..." and the last word was something I don't recall.

"Oh wow!" he said. "I haven't seen one of these in about 20 years! What else you got in there?"

"Well, the rest of those swords are in here," I told him.

"Really?" At this point he jumped up and I pointed to the piled up boxes in the back of the closet. For some reason he looked at the walls of the closet and saw that it was covered in some sort of strange shelf paper. He ripped a piece off to uncover an older, 1940's blue cornflower style paper under that. He ripped off that to find an image that can only be described as a war bond advertisement.

"Oh wow, Bob! Oh wow!" he exclaimed as he uncovered image after image of war bond ads and farm equipment ads from the 1940s. This went on for quite a while, and my girlfriend told Mickey to stop saying "wow" because it was annoying.

Then my dad showed up and asked me what I was doing in the closet.  "Dad, meet Mickey Dolenz." I said.

The two shook hands, my dad was awestruck, and the two of them carefully removed all the images from the closet walls. They also started cutting apart a large (poster sized; 2'x3') book of Disney stuff I had in there (again this item does not actually exist in real life as far as I know).

My final thought was that we could sell off all this stuff and pay off the house.

Community House; Enemy At The Door

Part 1:
There I was, in my childhood home, in the kitchen. Some strangers, about seven in total,  were coming down the stairs and into the room, complaining about... something. The neighborhood I think. They seemed more at ease as I talked to them. There was a little person who started rearranging the items in the cabinet. I asked if she'd be happier if I made a space just for her stuff -- but then I had this feeling that said to me "she doesn't even live here."

Part 2a:
The front door was open. I could see some people were on the front porch. As I approached, I saw a large bulldog, but the people were off to the side of the door. When I got to the door, a large black hand was held up to the screen door, palm facing away. Just the fore/middle/ring fingers were pressed against the screen. The hand was lowered, leaving some sort of residue in the screen.

One of the three on the porch was wearing a white tank top, white shorts. He had huge, frizzy hair, and was a light-skinned black teen. The man with the hand was bald, wearing a black tank top and dark green shorts. He held the leash of the dog. The third person was female, but I didn't get a good enough look at her because at this point my fear instinct kicked in and I felt as if my dogs were in danger. I ran to the backyard and woke up.

Part 2b:
When I fell back asleep, after confirming my dogs were fine, I fell immediately back into the dream, at the door where the man's hand was back against the screen. The bulldog took on a new look - a fiery pitbull, with red eyes and flames licking its body. The man was laughing quietly and pointing down the street.

I turned away to check my dogs in the backyard and only saw evidence of some sort of struggle. I grabbed a sword and burst out the front door.

I cut off the fiery pitbull's head in one stroke, and while swinging lopped off the nondescript woman's head too. The laughing man got lanced in the neck and the frizzy-haired teen also got pierced through the chest. I power-flew down the street to where he was pointing and slaughtered another evil looking man with an evil looking dog creature. This creature had one of my dogs in its mouth, which it promptly dropped as I cut off hits head. The evil man suffered a wound of my sword going up through the bottom of his jaw and into his head. The exit wound burst in a fiery light and he was engulfed in flames.

All the people and animals I killed vanished in a blaze of fire. My dogs all laid on the side of the road, battered, fur matted by drool and a little blood but it seems they were unharmed physically.

Cabin & Restaurant; Techno Mall

Cabin & Restaurant
There was a strange cabin/two-room house that was decorated in a minimalist style. Very modern, plopped on the side of a hill in a small, densely populated commercial area. Directly behind the cabin, the hillside became like a cliff, where grass overhang the edge. A large concrete building stood on the top.

At the bottom of the hill, about a block away as a restaurant. The restaurant was mostly an old-world brick building, both within and without. There were tall 'cocktail' tables (round tables, no more than 2 feet across, and about 4 feet high) all around, and most people were standing. Nearly everyone was holding a wine glass, and it was very crowded.

While I was in there, Samuel L Jackson walked out and down the street in the direction of the cabin. I stepped outside to talk to him. He was already a good few hundred feet away, but he turned around and yelled back as he walked backwards. Something about 'figuring it out'.

Techno Mall
I was sitting in a car outside of the house of someone I know - whom I only know online. I've sent this person things via the mail, so I know the address, and have looked it up on Google Maps/Street View. I know what the house looks like, and vaguely what this person looks like.

She gets into the car and I drive to a surreal highway. I take a right out of the side street onto the surreal highway. It starts to snow. A traffic circle is approaching and I'm asking which direction we should take. I'm told the 2nd right.

We arrive at a store that reminds me of the outdoor porch from Beetlejuice, except with round windows. Other than that odd architectural element, in all it looked very much like a Marshall's store in a strip mall near me. Inside this store, all the products (and there weren't many) were either in wall niches or on lighted, plastic pedestals. The wall niches were glowing orange, and the floor pedestals were glowing white. I chose a large, puffy, white trench coat and we left.

The next location (did we drive? I don't recall) was a mall I've seen in a few different dreams. We were at the escalators, and music that sounded like "Gangnam Style" was playing quietly enough that you couldn't discern if it was the real thing or not. I opened up the coat, and the interior lit up neon orange. I also had large, round sunglasses whose frames also lit up neon orange.

The Luxury Home

This was not our house. This was the house of my wife's sister's family. It was definitely a newly build house, constructed in the style of older estates. There were several large rooms, the smallest being roughly 400 square feet (the size of my current living room). The majority of the interior followed the style of her mother's cabin in the woods. I recall very specifically only these things:
  • The cost of the house was stated "above $850,000."
  • The woodwork was almost entirely knotty pine, matching the cabin.
  • My niece's bedroom had a walk-in closet with built-in dressers, all made of the same pine.
  • There was an incomplete chain-link fence in the oddly small backyard.
The chain-link fence was something of an oddity, even to my dream-state self. I recall being at the point where two sections were missing, and someone saying "that's just how they (the builders) left it."

Apparently the left and right-most 'barrier' parts of the fence were placed long ago, to outline the property boundaries, but the back of the property was only defined by an incomplete fence. The oddest part is that it was only 2 'panels' of fencing missing, though I am aware that chain-link isn't installed in panels. I was aware in the dream as well, which made me investigate it further. As I walked through the area devoid of fence the dream ended.
