The Luxury Home

This was not our house. This was the house of my wife's sister's family. It was definitely a newly build house, constructed in the style of older estates. There were several large rooms, the smallest being roughly 400 square feet (the size of my current living room). The majority of the interior followed the style of her mother's cabin in the woods. I recall very specifically only these things:
  • The cost of the house was stated "above $850,000."
  • The woodwork was almost entirely knotty pine, matching the cabin.
  • My niece's bedroom had a walk-in closet with built-in dressers, all made of the same pine.
  • There was an incomplete chain-link fence in the oddly small backyard.
The chain-link fence was something of an oddity, even to my dream-state self. I recall being at the point where two sections were missing, and someone saying "that's just how they (the builders) left it."

Apparently the left and right-most 'barrier' parts of the fence were placed long ago, to outline the property boundaries, but the back of the property was only defined by an incomplete fence. The oddest part is that it was only 2 'panels' of fencing missing, though I am aware that chain-link isn't installed in panels. I was aware in the dream as well, which made me investigate it further. As I walked through the area devoid of fence the dream ended.
